Municipality of Umm Al Quwain is a service governmental institution, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), directly related to the general public, in order to meet the many requirements of their daily life, and contribute through its subsidiary departments, municipalities, and centers, to the rapid development of the emirate of Umm Al Quwain. This is in line with Umm Al Quwain's future Vision that aims to place the country among the developed countries, based on the pillars of human development, economic, social, and environmental development.

The First establishment of the Municipality of Municipal Affairs in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain was in the first of April 1968, and practiced municipal tasks assigned to it in accordance with the Amiri Decree No. 1 of 1975 issued by the late President His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla, God rest his soul, which was amended by Law No. (1) for the year 2010.
And the municipality provides services of issuing construction, public health, and the environment and monitors the markets and the ratification of the leases and Dispute Resolution and others in the framework of the laws and legislations issued licenses. Which has defined the responsibilities of the Municipality and its affiliate Departments.
